SUCCESS

In the first month after the inauguration alone, the exhibition had more than 20,000 visitors and 15,000 interactions, with several participating schools and passionate fans seeking to learn more about the history of the teams and, of course, gain an incredible and fun interactive experience. In addition, the presence of the interactive activity was such a success that, due to the initial large number of players, we had to further improve the experience, further optimizing the game to cater for the large number of players.

MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES

Cafundó has a fantastic partnership with the Museum of Florianópolis, several projects have already been carried out and in this case, we had the freedom to develop an activity that celebrated the anniversary of the two biggest soccer teams on the island. The development process was divided into 3 stages. In the first one, we put our minds together on a board and imagined how to create a remarkable experience for visitors in a positive way. We believe that the penalty shootout is one of the most impactful situations for soccer fans. Imagine being able to score a goal and put your heart club in front of the archrivals?

Having defined what the game would be like, we identified which technologies and software would extract the best result in the given development time. It was decided to use Kinect to capture the movements, Unity as the game engine and Blender for the animations.

To make the dispute even more special, the goals scored by the visitor count on a general scoreboard in the exhibition. Thus, each visitor contributes to their team's score, in a fun and exciting dispute.

The third stage of development was the famous "hands-on", we divided functions, stipulated deadlines, concepts, design styles that we would like to achieve and we brought this incredible project to life.

MASCOTS, CROWDS AND PLAYERS

As a visual style, we decided to use a mixture of 2D and 3D illustrations with Cel Shading texture, giving a cartoonish and fun look to the game.

We decided to revamp the team mascots, both to make them more dynamic and consistent with the game and to attract more public attention. Therefore, they took on the role of cheering people up and making them feel closer to their favorite teams.

Regarding to the character that represents the player, we decided that a neutral dummy would perform better in the gameplay, as it would not draw too much attention and would give more space for the player to feel in his place. There where multiple motion studies in 3D and Unity to find the optimal motion.

Our fans came super differentiated, unlike the neutral player, we have the most varied types, biotypes, genders, shapes, colors and all the variety that the soccer field shows us during real games.

FUN EXHIBITION

Therefore, we strive for diversity in the crowd, also so that visitors feel represented in it. The Florianópolis Museum receives many groups of students and inclusion is always present in the playful work of the exhibitions.

With the interactive experience "Leão da Ilha X Hurricane do Estreito - 100 Years of Memory" we were able to present to the public a story of rivalry, but always represented by fair play and fun.
